Treating Process

Wood is loaded into the mill in preparation for cedar-toning, incising, sorting, etc.

Wood is graded by certified professionals, carefully sorting to create the premium grade lumber that Exterior Wood is famous for. This is an extra step that our customers have come to expect and appreciate, because their customers do!

After the wood has been banded into unit sizes it is placed inside the retort tubes for pressure treatment.

While the wood is in the retort tube, supervisors monitor the treatment processes-volume, pressure, absorption, and time to ensure that the wood is treated to the strictest of standards.

Stringent quality control and testing practices are conducted to ensure that all products have been properly treated and meet or exceed all government regulations.

After the wood is pressure treated, it is then wrapped prior to going to the Distribution Center .
